Happy New Year! I am Supercat, and I've been at the animal shelter for more than a month. Because the cat house has been under renovation during this time, all I've done is dozed in a cage and try to stretch a bit. Today I saw the people here bring in a lot of human furniture, and I caught a glimpse of the other cats staring in disbelief. Actually, I, Supercat, have heard that the idea behind this was not just to give us homeless cats the feeling that we have found another familiar home, but also, and more importantly, to give those of us who have been strays from the time we were kittens and easy way to get used to being in a human home; all the human furniture gives us cats a space in which we can better become socialized. Most important of all, when you walk into the cat home, can you imagine how happy your home will be with a kitten or two? We can lie together on the sofa and lazily watch TV, or you can lie on the bed and I will give you a massage by walking on your back, or you can watch the sparrow outside the window with me. How about if we share each day together during the new year? Yes! I do!
