Following the Dragon Boat Festival, the cat home at Taichung Animal Shelter put away all the warming articles used to protect against the cold in winter, and laid out a fresh, bright environment. This year's themes are environmental protection and rebirth, and numerous new elements have been added to the existing environment. For instance, the many cardboard box design features include "Hu-lu-lu kitty beds," "empress kitty chairs," "Meow-meow exercise platforms," and ubiquitous "Meow large scratching sheets." In addition, the cat home contains an aerial pathway, which links two cat shelters consisting of a pink castle and azure blue throne. Apart from providing cats living space, the refurnished cat home also meets their need for hiding places and recreation, giving Taichung new five-star kitty lodging!

The Taichung Animal Shelter's cat home is inspired by the San Francisco Animal Shelter, and simulates a human household environment. Chilly cat cages have been replaced with a warm and comfortable cat home, and the stress of confinement has vanished. The cats can freely engage in activity, and potential adopters can get a good look at the cats' behavior at home. Visitors can enter the cat home and interact with the cats, and enjoy the cats' charm and naughtiness; the cat home not only helps people and cats to learn to interact in a friendly manner, but also ensures that the cats can quickly learn to trust people when they are adopted.
