Taichung City Pet Carcass Cremation and Ash Handling Fee Standards

Article 1 These Standards have been promulgated in accordance with Article 6, Paragraph 4 of the Taichung Autonomous Statute on Pet Carcass Disposal and Pet Life Memorial Service Management.

Article 2 The competent authority in charge of these Standards is the Agriculture of Taichung City Government, and the enforcing authority shall be the Taichung City Animal Protection and Health Inspection Office.

Article 3 Fees shall be collected from residents with a registered address in Taichung City ("this City") who apply to the Taichung City Animal Protection and Health Inspection Office for pet carcass cremation in accordance with the following standards:

  1. A fee of NT$250 per animal shall be collected when a pet carcass weighs less than 5kg.
  2. A fee of NT$50 per kilogram per animal shall be collected when a pet carcass weighs over 5kg, where weight increments of less than 1kg shall be calculated as 1kg.

The weight of pet carcasses in the foregoing paragraph may not exceed 50kg.

When persons who are not registered residents of this City apply for pet carcass cremation in Paragraph 1, they shall pay a fee of twice the amounts in Paragraph 1.

When a pet has been registered in accordance with the Animal Protection Act, one-half of the fees in Paragraph 1 and the foregoing paragraph shall be collected.

Article 4 when it is wished to sprinkle the ashes from a pet carcass, or give them a tree burial or earth burial, fees shall be collected in accordance with the following standards:

  1. A fee of NT$2000 per case when the applicant is a registered resident of this City.
  2. A fee of NT$4000 per case when the applicant is not a registered resident of this City.

Article 5 These Standards shall take effect from the date of issuance.
