To boost the veterinary drug knowledge of people working in relevant industries, the Taichung City Animal Protection and Health Inspection Office held the "Veterinary drug Law Workshop and Drug Management Technician Training" on November 1, 2023. Mr. Chen Wei-lun, an assistant technical specialist in the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Agency, Ministry of Agriculture, was invited to speak at this event, and the content of Mr. Chen's talk included an overview of the Veterinary Drugs Control Act and commonly seen violations. The event familiarized persons in the veterinary drug industry with requirements concerning drug management and sale, as well as correct drug use concepts, and will help them ensure the safe use of veterinary drugs and public food safety.

   The Health Inspection Office reminds people in the industry that only veterinary drugs that have been prescribed by licensed veterinarians and veterinarian assistants may be sold and used, drug sale procedures must comply with relevant regulations, and sellers must inform purchasers of veterinary drugs of the types of animals the drugs may be used on, the method of usage and dosage, contraindications, side effects, drug stoppage times, and other important information, which will help protect consumers' veterinary drug use rights and interests.

    The Health Inspection Office reminds veterinary drug sellers and the public that pet foods and pet products may not advertise or claim the ability to prevent or treat animal diseases, veterinary drugs and not-yet-approved foreign drugs may not be sold over the Internet, and violations of these requirements may be punished in accordance with the Veterinary Drugs Control Act.
