The Taichung City Animal Protection and Health Inspection Office was invited to staff a booth promoting pet owner responsibility awareness at TSMC's Mini Run for Fun on May 11, 2024. Our personnel took the opportunity to interact with the public through educational and question and answer activities, and served as a bright point of light at the Run for Fun. Numerous TSMC personnel at the event brought their families and furry kids to enjoy the occasion, and people and their pets all had a very pleasant and athletically-oriented morning in Taichung's Central Park.

Pets are already members of the family in many households, and this employee activity conducted by TSMC was very welcoming to families who wanted to bring their furry kids. As a result, apart from the road run, there were also many fun activities involving pets, including the furry kids sprint, shoveling treasures competition, and fun get-together with pets. All of these activities attracted numerous owners and their pets. As eager shouts and cheers rang out under the morning sunshine, the furry kids excitedly wagged their tails, ran, and jumped. Everyone was sweating, and a happy, warm-hearted mood set in over the entire park, underscoring the affection between people and their pets.

The pet owner responsibilities publicized by the Health Inspection Office at this activity included pet registration, vaccination against rabies, using a leash when taking pets out, and getting pets spayed or neutered. Starting from the day they are taken home, furry kids should become cherished family members, and must be microchipped and registered to give them a lawful identity. They must get annual rabies shots to protect their health, and a leash must be used to protect their safety when taken out. Spaying and neutering pets will prevent numerous diseases of the reproductive system. All good owners must be sure to fulfill these duties. The road race that served as the central event of the day's activity highlighted the importance of exercise. Both furry kids and humans need exercise to maintain their health; a suitable amount of exercise each day will ensure that furry kids maintain a good physical condition and happy state of mind.

This exceptional crossover field cooperation helped spread correct pet ownership concepts while animals and humans enjoyed an unforgettable, action-packed weekend morning. We hope to have more opportunities in the future to promote animal welfare and ensure that even more furry kids receive excellent care.
