Taichung Animal Shelter-Houli Park welcomes the establishment of the Design Hub in Taichung's Wang-Wang Station "Dogether" exhibit on the shelter campus by the Taichung City Cultural Affairs Bureau. On March 5, the Health Inspection Office held a volunteer training class on the subject of "Dog and cat photography and adoption text writing skills" using the exhibit. The professional photographer Shinshin was invited to teach the class, and provided the volunteers with training in photography. During the class, Shinshin and the volunteers captured the dogs resting and playing in and around the exhibit. The class underscored the exhibit's multifunctional design, which showed how principle of kindness to animals can be realized in many ways.

The Taichung City Cultural Affairs Bureau's "Design Hub in Taichung" cultural creativity and design project was launched in November 2024, and this sustainability- and environmentally-oriented project's satellite exhibit "Wang-Wang Station" has since been transferred to the Health Inspection Office. Wang-Wang Station's "Dogether" design is the brainchild of Googoods Design designer Chuang Chi-hung. This "Dogether" concept merges "dog" with "together," and originates from the idea of "always doing things together with pets." The exhibit at Houli Park includes doghouses, rest platforms, feeding bowls, and jumping platforms. The Health Inspection Office hopes that the establishment of the Dogether exhibit in the dog exercise area and environmental park at the Taichung Animal Shelter's Houli Park campus will encourage owners to bring their dogs to the environmental park. In the park, people's dogs and shelter dogs can play, rest, and have fun, and both humans and dogs can have a thoroughly enjoyable time. The new exhibit is yet another way of making the city environment even more livable and promoting the concept of kindness to animals.

The Health Inspection Office hopes that the recent training class has boosted volunteers' adoption photography and text-writing skills, which will let them help increase the exposure of dogs and cats at the shelter. This will increase the adoption rate, and help more shelter animals find happy homes. There is a continuing volunteer recruiting program this year, and interested people are asked to look for recruiting information on the Health Inspection Office's website. We look forward to you joining us!
