Search and rescue dogs and police dogs are frequently deployed for vital tasks such as disaster relief, maintaining public order, and providing public services. During their duties, they are exposed to diverse environments, resulting in a relatively high risk of contracting diseases. Regular vaccinations not only protect the dogs' health but also effectively reduce the risk of zoonotic disease transmission!

The vaccinations were administered by a team of professional veterinarians from the Health Inspection Office. Each dog underwent a health assessment and received rabies and multiple canine infectious disease vaccinations. The rigorous process ensured that every working dog received comprehensive care. The Health Inspection Office continues to promote various animal disease prevention measures and, through inter-agency collaboration, creates a safer and healthier living environment, ensuring a win-win situation for both citizens and animals.

The Health Inspection Office emphasizes that rabies is a highly fatal zoonotic infectious disease, and vaccination is the most effective way to prevent it. All pet dogs and outdoor cats must be vaccinated against rabies annually. Violators will be fined between NT$30,000 and NT$150,000 under the Act on the Prevention and Control of Infectious Animal Diseases. Furthermore, pet registration and management should be implemented, and it is recommended to boost vaccinations against other infectious diseases to prevent infection, protect the health of pets, and jointly safeguard urban public health and safety.
